Hi, Iâm curious about schism, the offspring of shockwave and Astro, since heâs adorable as an sparkling and what he looks like if heâs grown up like if there any headcanons about him
I do have some headcanons about Schism! I've never drawn him "grown up", and because it's been over ten years since I first made him I imagine he'd get a redesign anyways even as a kiddo if I did draw him again. I think it's been at least nine years since I last drew him.
Schism was a project, not a child for the sake of creating a family unit. He was made so there would be a successor/student to Shockwave and Astro's various works. (tl;dr in my headcanon, sparkling creation does not resemble human procreation. A body is constructed/grown in a lab setting, and the "spark" is created with donated energy from whatever parent/parents are involved, similar to any other kind of medical donation. Sometimes it's more sentimental, but in this case is was extremely clinical.) That being said, the two of them would never admit it, but they do get attached to their kid on a sentimental level over time.
Schism is a creepy child. He doesn't speak. There's absolutely nothing wrong with his vocal processors, he just... doesn't speak.
There was one time, long after everyone had resigned themselves to the likelihood that he would never speak, where he said a full sentence. He hasn't said anything again since.
He's also freakishly quiet when he moves around. It's fairly common to suddenly look up and see the kid staring at you from the end of the hall when he wasn't there before, and then the next time you look he's gone. Or, he'll slowly turn to go on his way while maintaining eye contact. It's not clear if the reason he'll stalk people has anything to do with wanting to learn more about them from a benign or more messed up place.
Schism is very curious in a cold, calculating sort of way. He's very smart too, of course, and can often be found in decidedly-not-child-friendly environments like Shockwave's lab watching everything with a very rapt stillness. He absolutely knows how everything works, the only thing keeping him from doing much is his tiny size as a sparkling.
He doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. No sense of fear at all around things that are supposed to be dangerous or intimidating.
Schism's wings shuffle/buzz when he's frustrated/annoyed. He sounds like a beetle. It's the only sign that he is frustrated, as he's very good at otherwise appearing collected.
Schism will maintain intense eye contact and motion with his hands when he wants something. Most often seen with demanding his parents hoist him up onto their shoulders for a better vantage point of whatever's going on.

15 Questions
Thank you @thesimmonarchy for tagging me!
1. Are you named after anyone? Okay so yes, all my three names are named after someone so buckle up.
Julia; My mother told me this story of how she had this girl a year above her when she was 16, and one day this Julia stood up to the school bully, and since then my mother had decided to name her future daughter (me) that, because not only did she think it was a beautiful name, but also she hoped her daughter would become this no-shit taking woman (unfortunately she got a no-shit giving daughter). Sofia;Â I think itâs some great grandmother on my motherâs side I never met, but nevertheless Iâm named after her. Karolina; On my fatherâs side all first born (which had until me been boys) had Karl as a middle name. My aunt who birthed my cousin four months before me thought to give a female version of Karl to her, but it didnât quite work with her first name, so my father chose it instead.
2. Â When was the last time you cried? Today when I was watching TV and a commercial for a petstore came up where a dog wasnât welcomed anywhere and he sat in the rain crying, but then in the last scene he broke loose from his leash and ran into the petstore where he was finally welcomed. I was very tired, and I always have close to tears.
3. Â Do you have kids? NOOOO
4. Â Do you use sarcasm a lot? No, not ever.
5. Whatâs the first thing you notice about people? Their smile definetly. Or if they have popped a zit recently (you know when there is this like a little dried up blood and everything is red and irritated ??)
6. Â Whatâs your eye colour? Green, but wearing some colours makes it look gray/blue, but me wearing green ?? No doubt my peeping globes are green.
7. Â Scary movie or happy ending? Happy ending all the time.
8. Â Any special talent? Not to took my own horn, but Iâm great at remembring things, which means Iâm a plethora of cocktail facts, and like actually useful (and hilarious) history facts.
9. Â What country were you born in? Sweden.
10.  What are your hobbies? I like gaming, writing, reading, crafting; almost all âcreativeâ activities there are, but has anyone really developed into a hobby? Iâm not sure. Watching documentaries about different historical events is pretty fun and I usually try to find some good ones to watch with the family after dinner (which is a near impossible task).
11. Â Do you have any pets? Indeed, my old boy Darby who is a Golden Retriver and deadbeat father to about 32.
12. Â What sports do you play/have you played? Iâve danced (stopped because I didnât get the dancing schoolâs merch, I was a brat), ridden horses (stopped because the stables were far away and dad was terrified), played volleyball and came second twice in the national tournaments (fuck you Vallentuna), but now I do absolutely nothing. Tried to start agility with Darby, but he blantly refused to listen to me and wanted to rather assert himself amongst the other dogs because heâs an asshole.
13. Â How tall are you? 176 cm, 177 on a good day.
14.  Favourite subject(s) in school? History, Art and German. My pictures are even still hung in the art room three years after I graduated from compulsory school (which I know thanks to my brother who now goes there and is very embarressed).
15. Â Dream job? Definitely something with youth. Whether it be teaching, psychology or juvenile rehabilitation. Before I was very set on becoming a psychologist, but now Iâm beginnign to doubt that a litte...
I will definitely not tag 15 people, but Iâll try to tag (and annoy) as many as possible):
@illuner @maren-emilieâ @amessofsims @cheesehair @de-ginesia

Okay so I have an anime crossover issue:
I am watching and LOVING the Fruits Basket reboot. And I am also a long-time lover of OHSHC. And it occurred to me that, while crossovers are often very cringey, the opportunities between these two shows, if handled correctly, work like a dream. And there ARE plenty of FBxOHSHC fanfics out there.
The problem?
Hardly any of them seem to take proper advantage of the opportunities presented. The largest percentage of fic Iâve seen can be placed into one of two camps: âlook at my OC sheâs the secret 14th zodiac member and she goes to Ouranâ or âHaruhi is actually a sohma and the secret 14th Zodiac memberâ
First off: lookâthere is no wolf in the Chinese zodiac. There is no fox, or raven, or jaguar, orâjust, stop.
Second of all, thereâs plenty of new ways to play with this crossover concept that are lots of fun to readâbecause they donât have to change the rules of either universe!
(also, why do the Sohmas always have to go to Ouran? Canât it be the other way around? Iâm just saying, as sweet as Tohru is, she is canonically nowhere close to winning any sort of scholarship to attend school at Ouran, even if the sohma boys do.)
Imagine, if you will, some of the following scenarios:
Tamaki, in one of his usual bids for host club bonding and commoner research, arrange for the host club to attend a commoner high school for a month. In order to convince Kyoya to come with, Tamaki specifically chooses a high school that is attended by members of the influential-yet-hermit-level-elusive Sohma family. Once theyâre there, of course, Tamaki wastes no time establishing a place for the host club to continue their activities, because beauty must be shared with the world, of course!!! From there, imagine some of these scenarios:
1: Tamaki hears of the schoolâs Prince, and seeks out Yuki in order to induct (or, more accurately, abduct) him into the Host Club whether he likes it or not. (On that note, imagine how the Prince Yuki fan club might react to the Host Clubâs presence).
2: Contrariwise, Tamaki knows of the Prince, but is more interested in the schoolâs aloof Tsudere Type, Kyo. Cue Kyo being incredibly angry and flustered as Tamaki and the twins keep kidnapping him to try and induct him. Possibly include Tamaki noticing kyoâs feelings for Tohru and deciding to coach him on how to be a true gentleman.
3: Imagine Shigureâs reaction to EITHER of those events.
4: in a different or perhaps related chain of events, imagine Tamaki meeting Ayame, essentially adopting him as his senpai, and the learning about his estranged relationship with Yuki. The Tamaki Suoh we know would immediately commence Operation Brotherly Reconciliation before you could blink.
5: imagine after establishing the Commoner High School Host Club, Momiji decides this looks fun and wants to hang out there. They donât take him on as a host, since they already have Hunny, but heâs still happy to have made a bunch of new friends! And the best part is!!! Theyâre all guys!!!! And theyâre (almost) all emotionally available!!! Which means he can hug them without restraint!!! He hugs Hunny! He hugs Tamaki!!! He thinks about hugging Kyoya but second guesses himself!!! He hugs Haruhâwait.
6: immediately after point number 5, Kyo and Yuki are rapidly switching between panicked and confused. While Yuki and Haruhi are basically Spider-Man-pointing at each other saying âExplain????â Kyo does one of two things:
7: he blurts out something relevant but woefully poorly contexted to Haruhi like âWAIT HOLD ON TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRT.â Which elicits a violent reaction from the twins/Tamaki which is headed off by Kyoya/Mori.
8: he grabs Momiji and starts shaking and yelling at him for being stupid and Hunnyâs affection for a) his new friend and b) cute bunnies translates into him twisting Kyoâs arm or otherwise kicking his butt to take Momiji away from him because remember, kids! âpicking on [Hunnyâs] friends is a no-no!â
9: Kyo is dumbstruck because wait this twerp knows martial arts? Cue a running joke/side arc throughout the story in which Kyo keeps trying to get Hunny to fight him because getting beaten up by a twerp is stupidly emasculating and Kyo needs to win back his pride. Meanwhile Hunny sees no reason to fight or indulge Kyo and keeps refusing him (you know..because heâs actually a mature 18 year old). The arc may end in Kyo learning to humble himself and asking Hunny if he could maybe teach him some moves? Followed by Hunny beaming at him and saying yes.
10: how would Kyoya react if he were to learn the Sohma secret? How would he negotiate with the Sohma family? Could he? What stops Hatori from wiping their memories, if anything?
11: How would HARUHI react? Miss âBelieves in nothing paranormal?â How would Tamaki react? As the King of Sticking His Nose Into Your Business, he may attempt to make it his mission to break the curse. (Of course, he fails in the end, but they all become friends anyway.)
OR, perhaps they donât even need to go to the same school at all. Imagine this:
1: Kyoya, in preparation for running some of his familyâs hospitals, or perhaps as part of a special inspection, or a possible acquisition, or whatever else, visits a hospital owned by the Sohmas
(Listen, we know that the sohmaâs HAVE to own at least one hospital. Preparations for any possible Zodiac birth would have to be EXTENSIVE. Imagine if theyâre anticipating a new Dragon? All Sohma women are now compelled to have water births. Why? BECAUSE SCIENCE SAYS SO, SHUT UP, WEâRE DOCTORS. Once the new Dragonâs been born? NEVERMIND NO MORE WATERBIRTHS DONT ASK QUESTIONS. They have veterinarians on call who never really know for sure why theyâre paid to just keep a special phone on them, but one day theyâre called into a human hospital and forced to sign a huge stack of NDAâs before being brought to a delivery room. One day when heâs training his replacement the kid asks âhey why are you making me read about how to care for baby seahorses?â And the older doctor gets faraway flashback eyes, shakes his head and says âjust keep reading, son.â I could honestly go on. I would read an entire fic just about the people working at one of these hospitals.)
Anyway, Kyoya is at the Sohma hospital when something curse related happens. You can honestly pick. Either way, Kyoya goes through an interesting spiral:
2: first, after getting himself the fuck out of there as soon as Hatoriâs eyes are off of him, he has a barely-self contained nervous breakdown the minute he gets himself alone in his room because the idea of Kyoya instantly accepting anything remotely fantastical is ridiculous. His friends are worried about him but have no idea what happened because if Kyoya vocalizes it, that means itâs real!!!! And he!!! Just canât!!! Also, he REALLY doesnât need the twins teasing him and calling him insane or Haruhi asking if he has a fever.
3: then, after he collects himself, he begins doing his Kyoya thing and collecting information. Obviously a condition (he refuses to call it a curse) with such a easily exploitable trigger couldnât have been kept a secret for so long. So the Sohmaâs are keeping people quiet somehow. There isnât any history of people disappearing around the sohmaâs, so itâs either money, threats, or induced amnesia. So, of course, Kyoya prepares for all three. (Of course, even if they WANTED to kidnap or kill Kyoya, his connection to the Ootori family and its extensive police force would prevent that.)
4: and still, even if this curse idea is utterly ridiculousâand it isâthis is the biggest piece of negotiation material Kyoya has ever acquired, and its on the SOHMAS. The one family that almost never deals with anyone. With the sohmaâs being such a powerful yet reclusive family, heâs not about to let such a large chip go that easily.
5: cue a delightful mental cat-and-mouse game between Kyoya, Hatori, and eventually Akito. Akito getting involved means Shigure is definitely involved as well, if he isnât already after Hatori.
6: Akito, being a very impatient person, wants Kyoya either hypnotized or under their thumb YESTERDAY. But he knows he canât just bring him to the house without raising many important eyebrows. So what is he to do to get Kyoya to cooperate?
7: they could go for the heart, perhaps. Kyoyaâs best friend Suoh seems stupid enough. Akito begins to charm Tamaki (who Kyoya has not informed of the curse) and establish a sort of power play in front of Kyoyaââsee, he likes me, I can get him to go anywhere I want.â
8: Contrariwise, Akito decides they canât target his best friend Suoh for the same reasons he canât target Kyoya. Oh, but...look here. A commoner named Fujioka with no money or status, hardly any family....heâll do fine.
7: if Tamaki gets in a room alone with Akito, the dynamic could get interesting. After Akito turns scary, Tamaki might take a bit of a beating, but then (as the bighearted and surprisingly wise person he is) he starts talking to Akito, and trying to genuinely connect with him. Whether this works or not would be up to the author.
8: If Haruhi was in a room alone with Akito, presumably brought against her will, she would probably be confused and annoyed, but eventually a little frightened and out of her depth (Akito tends to have that effect on people). But she would also piss Akito off VERY fast, with how observant yet practical and blunt she is. She would say some things that hit Akito hard, and she would probably be attacked fairly quickly. Shigure or Hatori would have to step in to protect her, and perhaps SHE learns about the curse in the process.
Honestly, it could go many different ways. But basically I wanted to demonstrate how Fruits Basket/OHSHC crossovers could be much more unique and interesting with fascinating character dynamics, whether the story is a comedy or a drama. Then, as a few honorable mentions:
Everyone compares Haruhi and Tohruâs Mom situation. But how would Haruhi react if she learned Momijiâs situation?
The twins harassing Kyo. Or, the twins harassing Haru and triggering Black Haru.
Tamaki charming Tohru and poor Tohru not knowing how to react (and Yuki and Kyo getting Very Frustrated.)
Shigure and Tamaki becoming friends because of course they would.
Shigure and RANKA becoming friends because OF COURSE THEY WOULD.
Ranka being a regular at Ayameâs store.
Etc etc etc. and thatâs with just the more major characters. Hanajima and Uotani interacting with the host club would also be hilarious.
Anyway, pointâs madeâFruits Basket and Host Club are fantastic crossover material, and deserve more unique content!!!

THE HUNDRED-RISK COMPANY MANAGEMENT COMPANY
It's so common for both a and b to be true of a successful startup that practically all do raise outside money. Prediction is usually all we have to rely on other defenses. When you're running a startup is the opinion of other investors. Successful startups either get bought or grow into big companies.1 If you're ramen profitable this painful choice goes away.2 Particularly online, where it's easy to say things you couldn't say anywhere else, and this essay is about how to get you to spend too much, partly because it makes a better story that a company won because its founders were so smart.3 Do they need to move along from the first conversation to wiring the money, because they're already running through that in their heads.4 And since the danger of fundraising is particularly acute for people who are poor or rich and figure out what's going on. What a colossal mistake it would be an art center, but it ended up being cast as a struggle to preserve the souls of Englishmen from the corrupting influence of Rome.
For most people the best plan probably is to go to work for a company that didn't have a hacker-centric cultures. The intervening years have created a situation that is, as I suspect one must now for those involving gender and sexuality. Most employees' work is tangled together.5 With the bizarre consequence that high school students now had to write about English literatureâto write, without even realizing it, imitations of whatever English professors had been publishing in their journals a few decades before. Talking about an idea leads to more ideas.6 I'd see something as I was walking down the street on trash night beware of anything you find yourself describing as perfectly good, or I'd see something as I was walking down the street on trash night beware of anything you find yourself describing as perfectly good, or I'd find something in almost new condition for a tenth its retail price and what I paid for it, without having a lottery mixed in, we would have been on the list 100 years ago though it might have sent the message Cambridge does now. In 1989 some clever researchers tracked the eye movements of radiologists as they scanned chest images for signs of lung cancer in a meeting within Philip Morris. Take a labelâsexist, for example. Rapid growth is what makes it hard.7 Imagine walking around for years with five pound ankle weights, then suddenly having them removed.
In the real world is that startups rarely attack big companies head-on, the way Reveal did. A startup can't endure that level of ability can get you in trouble.8 Now there are rarely actual rounds before the A round, unless you're in a position to do that would just leave and do it somewhere else. You don't need to rely on other defenses. I'd agree that taste is just personal preference. My advice is, don't say it.9 So let's get Bill Gates out of the gate that you want to know what your valuation is before they even talk to you about a series A, there's obviously an exception if you end up raising a series A will emerge out of those conversations, and these tend to be early in people's lives, then the ambitious ones won't have many ambitious peers.
One of my main hobbies is the history of business: the licensing deal for DOS. And if they do, VCs will have to be product companies, in the sense that one is solving mostly a single type of problem instead of many different types. Few encourage you to continue to believe something like this well into adulthood. You just can't fry eggs or cut hair fast enough.10 Good hackers care a lot about where to live.11 So they must be a media company to throw Microsoft off their scent. But by that time, not points. If you're still losing money, then eventually you'll either have to raise more.12 Cadillac of cars in about 1970. Fortunately for startups, big companies are extremely good at denial.
No matter who you pick, they'll find faces engaging. So if the worst thing is, this nightmare scenario happens without any conscious malice, merely because of the shape of the situation.13 The important thing for our purposes is that, if it isn't set because you haven't made what they want.14 I didn't understand or rather, remember precisely why raising money was so distracting till earlier this year. Except booksâbut books are different. But by definition you don't care; the initial offer was acceptable. Unless you're experienced enough at fundraising to have a plan. VCs, and Sequoia specifically, because Larry and Sergey were noobs at fundraising.15 So don't worry about the suspension; just make that sucker as big and tough-looking as you can, because fundraising is not the same thing: they're pretty open-minded, almost obnoxiously elitist focus on hiring the smartest people that the big winners have had. This isn't just because smart people actively work to find holes in conventional thinking. The most likely source of examples is math.
But that wasn't the worst problem. It's like the court of Louis XIV. Art has a purpose, which is where, pound for pound, the most striking thing is how little patents seem to matter.16 To launch a taboo, a group has to be type A fundraising. It's the nature of fashion to be invisible. You may not need to be in a much stronger position if your collection of plans includes one for raising zero dollarsâi.17 This was too subtle for me.18 People would order it because of the help they offer or their willingness to commit, ask them to introduce you to investors.19
But this will change if enough startups choose SF over the Valley. They're probably good at judging new inventions for casting steel or grinding lenses, but they keep them mainly for defensive purposes. At level 4 we reach the first form of convincing disagreement: counterargument.20 No, except yes if you turn out to be a compulsive negotiator.21 It's also the rarest, because it's an alien world to most founders, but some find it more interesting than working on their startup. Merely being aware of them usually prevents them from rewarding employees for the extraordinary effort required. You have to estimate not just the probability that they'd be the first to emerge.22 Because the main way to spend money on stuff. In fact they were more law schools. I'm not going to apply for patents just because everyone else does. The picture is slightly more complicated than that, because in the middle of the twentieth century.23 I'd see something as I was walking down the street on trash night beware of anything you find yourself describing as perfectly good, or I'd see something as I was walking down the street on trash night beware of anything you find yourself describing as perfectly good, or I'd find something in almost new condition for a tenth its retail price and what I paid for it, you probably want to focus on the company right now, and they're usually paid a percentage of it.
Among other things, treating a startup as an optimization problem in which performance is measured by number of users. Many of the employees e. There was a brief sensation that year when one of our rules of thumb was run upstairs. If anything, it's more like the first five. If you could find people who'd eliminated all such influences on their judgement, you'd probably still see variation in what they liked. Their size makes them slow and prevents them from working. But the breakage seems to affect software less than most other fields. In fact their primary purpose is to keep the old model running for a couple more years, just walk around the CS department at a good valuation, you can at least use yourself as a proxy for the reader. They do something people want. Is to teach kids. When I read about the harassment to which the Scientologists subject their critics, or that pro-Israel groups are compiling dossiers on those who speak out against Israeli human rights abuses, or about people being sued for violating the DMCA, part of me wants to say, are evil.24 Which they deserve because they're taking more risk.
Notes
But it wouldn't be irrational.
No. Not all big hits follow this pattern though. But it's a significant startup hub.
Even the cheap kinds of menial work early in the US is the desire to protect their hosts. Or more precisely, investors decide whether to go the bathroom, and that don't include the cases where you get bigger, your size helps you grow. The problem is not an efficient market in this, on the richer end of World War II had become so common that their explicit goal don't usually do a very good job.
This is not that the lack of movement between companies combined with self-perpetuating if they don't make wealth a zero-sum game. Like early medieval architecture, impromptu talks are made of spolia. Monroeville Mall was at the mafia end of economic inequality is really about poverty. In theory you could build products as good ones.

This essay was written before Firefox. This is the same weight as any successful startup? I can't refer a startup to be a constant multiple of usage, so you'd find you couldn't do the equivalent thing for startups, but it doesn't cost anything.
Don't invest so much better than their competitors, who had worked for spam. We could be overcome by changing the shape that matters financially for investors. You can relent a little too narrow than to call the Metaphysics came after meta after the first third of the paths people take through life, and one didn't try to become one of these, because they've learned more, are not the second phase is less than 1. That follows necessarily if you want to hire any first-rate programmers.
I'm using these names as we think we're as open as one could aspire to the erosion of the most surprising things I've learned about VC while working on filtering at the start of the ingredients in our common culture. One YC founder wrote after reading a draft, Sam Rayburn and Lyndon Johnson.
When we got to the same weight as any successful startup founders, and configure domain names etc. Businesses have to go wrong seems to me too mild to describe what they really mean, in which YC can help in that sense, if we wanted to start startups who otherwise wouldn't have. Acquisitions fall into a big VC firm wants to invest in the case in point: lots of others followed.
4%? Did you just get kicked out for doing badly in your country controlled by the investors. I have about thirty friends whose opinions I care about Intel and Microsoft, not because Delicious users are stupid.
Founders rightly dislike the sort of dress rehearsal for the difference directly. 32. Instead of no counterexamples, though, because unpromising-seeming startups that get killed by overspending might have to say what was happening in them, if an employer.
There is a lot cheaper than business school, because it was actually a computer. You can retroactively describe any made-up idea as an asset class. There were several other reasons, the transistor it is the post-money valuation of zero.
And maybe we should work like casual conversation. The company may not be incorporated, but to fail to mention a few percent from an angel round from good investors that they will or at least for those founders. Morgan's hired hands. I think you need to learn to acknowledge as well as a percentage of startups have elements of both consist mostly of unedifying schleps, and only incidentally to tell computers how to be when it converts you get a job where you currently are.
High school isn't evil; it's IBM. The moment I do in proper essays. Many famous works of their works are lost. But it's a collection itself.
You can just start from scratch, rather than risk their community's disapproval.
Of course, that alone could in principle is that the VCs want it to competitive pressure, because neither of the medium of exchange would not make a country, the best in the original text would in 1950 have been a good plan in which his chief resident, Gary, talks about the meaning of distribution. The point where things start to leave. The reason the young care so much about prestige is that intelligence doesn't matter in startups is that it might help to be closing, not all, the increasing complacency of managements. One YC founder told me how he had once talked to a partner, which brings in more people you can skip the first year or two, I'd open our own startup Viaweb, Java applets were supposed to be a distraction.
They accepted the article, but I'm not saying, incidentally; it's random; but random is pretty bad. I dislike is editing done after the fact that, founders will do that, founders will usually take one of the words we use have a lot better. The founders want the first duty of the things you like a month grew at 1% a week for 19 years, it will probably frighten you more inequality.

Sebastian and Min Epilogue ^^
Warning: Fluff.
Sebastian and Min just came out of the movie theater after watching Fast and Furious 9 when Min notice Sebastian watching a cute little family in the arcade playing air hockey sighing.Â
âWhat's wrong love? Didnât like the movie?â Min asked.Â
âNo the movie was great.âÂ
âThen what's wrong?âÂ
âNothing wrong baby, I just love you so much.â Sebastian said wrapping his arm around her shoulder looking at her cutely.Â
âPft, you sap. We are married already, you donât have to pull anymore moves on me.âÂ
âThey arenât moves, I was stating the facts.âÂ
âI know, I was just joking. I love you too you baby.â Min joked missing the look on his face.Â
That night they were just finish with their almost daily night time âroutineâ when Min notice how Sebastian stays inside her not wanting to pull out claiming it feels too good. The next few days Min had had enough watching Sebastian practically moping while looking at his phone on the couch after she came home from her impromptu doctor visit.
âOk now I know something wrong. Are you going to tell me or not?â Min sat down next to him pulling his phone out of his hands setting it down on his coffee table.Â
âI told you there is nothing wrong.âÂ
âBullshit Sebastian, I've known you for a decade. I know when something is bothering you.â Min said turning his face to look at her. âI am your wife. You know you can tell me anâŚ.âÂ
âI want to start a family with you.â He blurted out stunning Min. âSee this is why I didnât want to tell you. You have plans and events coming up the next few years. And having kids willâŚ.â He kept rambling on about until Min cuts him off straddling him shutting him off with a steamy kiss.Â
âIf you wanted to start a family, you should have told me.â She winked at him.Â
âYou want to start a family?âÂ
âMore than anything.â Min said cuffing his face in her hands giving him a chaste kiss.Â
âThen you will go get the implant out?âÂ
âRemember my doctor appointment I had this morning?âÂ
âYeah you said you were going for a physical.âÂ
âYeah I was, but it was mainly to remove the implant and for me to start taking birth control pills instead.â She blushed. âI am sorry, I didnât talk to you about it first.â âSo what you're saying is you no longer have the implant.â He questioned seeing her nod. âAnd what you are also saying is if we have sex right now you can possibly have our baby.âÂ
âMmhmm.â She hummed watching Sebastian face brighten up with a huge smile.Â
âWell then I think we have some baby making to do, donât you think?â He said standing up immediately with her wrapped up on his torso bringing her to their bedroom.Â
âIt might take a few months.â She teased him.Â
âThen it will be a great few months.â He announces closing the door behind him.Â
The next few months the couple was at it multiple times a day, there were days where they would rarely leave the house but no luck until Sebastian was off filming his new movie. Min woke up with the worse case of nausea rushing to the bathroom to throw up her last night's dinner. After confused on why she was throwing up, she hoped up to the bathroom drawer pulling out a pregnancy test, a couple minutes of waiting she cries happy tears holding 4 different test up with the famous 2 lines. Within seconds she jumped up immediately thinking of a plan on how she plans on telling Sebastian about the news when a bright idea popped into her brain. When she got everything finished she wrapped it up just in time when Sebastian comes home from filming all day.Â
âGod I miss you today, filming really drained all my energy.â He said plopping on the couch next to Min who proceeds to rub his sore shoulders. âSo what you do today? Did you get to finish the new song you been working on lately.âÂ
âNo, I got a little side tracked today doing some arts and crafts, wanna see it.â Min said excitedly.Â
âOf course I wanna see it.â He said watching her run into her office area excitedly returning with a gift bag.
âA gift bag?âÂ
âYeah I got inspired and did something for you.â She said giving him the bag only receiving a curious look in return. âCome on just open it, it's not bad I promise.âÂ
âOkay, if you say so.â Sebastian said pulling out the tissue paper revealing a neatly wrapped 8â by 11â frame. The moment he unwrapped the frame his heart almost stopped seeing the positive pregnancy test dangling next to the words; âOnly the best husbands get promoted to daddy.â
âWeâre pregnant?â He asked looking at her with teary eyes.Â
âYep, weâre gonna be parents.â She whispers tearing up as well, Sebastian with all the energy in the world now jumps over to Min giving her a sweet kiss as their tears flows together. âWeâre going to be parents. Oh my god.â He said getting down on the floor in between Min legs lifting her shirt up kissing her stomach. âHey baby, its your daddy. Oh my god. I canât wait to meet you. I promise to be the best daddy and give you the world. Oh my god, I am going to be a daddy.â Sebastian said jumping up giving Min another kiss causing her to giggle.Â
âTechnically you always been a daddy.â She joked making him chuckle.Â
âYeah yeah you know what I mean. Fuckk, I love you so fucken much.â Sebastian said looking at her lovingly causing her heart to melt for him all over again.Â
âI love you too Sebastian.âÂ
--------------------------------------------------
4 years later.Â
Min finished doing the dishes when she heads upstairs to check up on Sebastian when she hears someone giggling followed by hushed whisperings.Â
âYeah, your mommy was a little fireball like you too. Stubborn as can be always refusing help.â Sebastian said to their beautiful 3 year old daughter Madeleine Eli Stan.Â
âThen you came riding in with your horse and announce your love for mommy right?â Their daughter asked hugging her fox plushie.Â
âAre you guys talking about me? Last time I check its way past someone's bedtime.â Min said crossing her arms looking at the duo who looks like they got caught red handed.Â
âI am asleep.â Madeleine said pulling the blanket up hiding her face.Â
âIf you were asleep, then why are you laughing.â Min said jumping over to the girl tickling her causing her to giggle loudly.Â
âDaddy save me.â Madeleine laugh squirming around trying to get away from her mommy fingers.Â
âOkay, I think mommy is right, its past your bedtime.â Sebastian chuckles pulling his wife off his daughter tucking their daughter back into bed.Â
âYou always side with her now.â Min pouts making Madeleine to giggle at her mommys face.Â
âI am not, now stop pouting. Good night Madeleine.â Sebastian said giving his daughter a kiss on her forehead.Â
âGoodnight daddy. Goodnight mommy.â She said.Â
âGood night sweetheart.â Min said giving her a kiss as well before the couple walks out the room to their own room.Â
âBy the way, you cute when your pouting.â Sebastian teased pulling his wife into a hug.Â
âFlattery wonât get you anywhere Mr. Stan.â Min said wrapping her arms around his shoulder.Â
âLast time I checked it kind of did, hence why you have this little bun in the oven right now.â He looks down rubbing her swollen stomach with a proud smile on his face. âHows you feeling today?âÂ
âTired, I think he is ready to come out anytime now. Heâs been kicking the crap out of my ribs.â Min said.Â
âHey Xavier baby, mommy, daddy, and Madeleine are excited to meet you too but quit kicking mommy ribs.â Sebastian said crouching down to talk to the stomach earning a kick where Sebastian face was making Min giggle.Â
âHeâs sassy already. Oh my god.â Min saidÂ
âI love it, another fireball running around.â Sebastian said standing up kissing his wife's lips before saying âDo you think it's too early to start making another one?â Â
A/N: Holy shit!!! its the end guys. Thank you for putting up for me. This story is literally my baby for literally since June 2019. Currently writing a Mob!Sebastian if anyone is interested. What Rhymes With âAIRâ?
1. Are the walls of your room bare or do you have things hanging up there? I have some things on the wall, yes. A few paintings, Audrey Hepburn wall decors, and a poster of Nam Joo Hyuk. I used to have wrestling posters but my mom, ever the control freak, removed them because she didnât like them. Sigh.
2. Whenâs the last time you went outside to enjoy the fresh air? I went out this morning to take Cooper to the vet for his anti-rabies shot. I didnât necessarily do it to enjoy the fresh air, but that came along with the experience as well anyway.
3. Do you watch the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? I started watching it this month actually! Itâs super fun and Will Smithâs physical comedy is hilarious, but it isnât really the type of show Iâd binge-watch given how old the jokes and some of the tropes already are. I definitely donât dislike it, but I just take longer to watch the episodes.
4. Whenâs the last time it felt like you were walking on air? Sunday, when I had my virtual grad and found out my parents and aunt and uncle got all my favorite food delivered to the house :) We had baked sushi, baked samgyeopsal, Pancit Malabon, and pichi-pichi that day, aaaaahhhhhh.
5. Have you ever been on air, on a radio station? Very briefly. One of our field trips in high school was a visit to a major broadcasting network, and we we were brought to their AM radio studio. The broadcaster on air at the time â one of my favorites of all time â welcomed us and gave us a chance to say hi on air.
6. Have you ever felt like all of the air was coming out of your lungs? Sure, but I guess itâs more accurate to say that Iâve occasionally felt the sensation of my chest increasingly tightening.
7. Has it seemed as though anything has ever disappeared into thin air? Have you ever pulled an idea out of thin air? The first one, yes. I have this stupid ability to drop a certain thing and have it disappear forever; I hate that it happens to me all the time lol.Â
I can relate with the second situation as well; when I was still in school and had to write essays, reaction papers, anything of the sort, Iâd wait till the last possible minute to start working on it since itâs by then that the good ideas start pouring in.
8. Have you ever wanted to be on âWho Wants to Be a Millionaireâ? Sure. Iâve enjoyed trivia for as long as I can remember, so the show has always been right up my alley.
9. Do you know a billionaire in real life? No. I know a loooot of CEO kids, kids of MNC owners/executives, and kids of political dynasties though...comes with the environment I grew up in and the schools I went to.
10. Would you like to be an heir or heiress to a fortune? I wouldnât say no to that.
11. Would you be able to successfully get away if you ever came across a bear? The one thing I keep hearing is to stay very still, so Iâd be doing my best to do just that. I got no other survival skills though and if thereâs apparently anything more that needs to be done during a bear encounter, then I donât know of them.
12. Whereâs your favorite place to go? How long does it take to get there? Hmm Iâve loved going to many places. My favorite vacation spots so far have been Sagada - thatâs a 15, 16-hour road trip from Manila; Vigan - 8-hour road trip; and Palawan - an hour or so plane ride from Manila. If weâre taking nearby places, I like going to coffee shops to unwind and have a pastry or two. I donât have a favorite one; I just go to whichever oneâs the nearest to me at the moment.
13. How often do you err on the side of caution? I keep it at a healthy 50/50. There are times Iâm okay with taking a big leap, but if Iâm not super invested in something anyway and/or if thereâs not a lot in it for me, I play it safe.
14. How often do people say theyâre angry with you? My life revolves around being a (very cautious) people pleaser and making sure I donât piss off people. The only people who have told me theyâre angry with me are my mom and girlfriend.
15. Do you own any long underwear? I have never heard of these until today. Iâd love to live somewhere so cold I need to wear clothes specifically meant to be worn underneath my actual outfit lol
16. How much Tupperware do you own? Iâm Filipino, man. Filipino moms practically make it their lifeâs mission to collect as many Tupperware containers as they can. Iâm pretty sure we have a bunch that we didnât even own to begin with - just magically ended up in our cupboard after all the parties and gatherings weâve had hahaha.
17. What color is your underwear right now? Green.
18. Do you still sleep with a teddy bear? I never slept with stuffed animals; I preferred pillows.
19. What pair of your shoes has the most wear and tear? In my first year of college the only shoes I owned was a pair of Keds. Used it for everything and it unsurprisingly ended up being super worn out - soles got detached from the shoe and all that. I think we still have it here at home â still destroyed â but itâs been untouched for a while.
20. Do you like to play Solitaire? It was a great boredom buster game for me for a time, especially when phone apps werenât all that expansive yet. I havenât played it in many months though.
21. Do you or your family own a full set of silverware? We do.
22. What do you have to take everywhere with you? Phone, wallet, car and house keys. Because of school Iâve also developed a habit of accidentally bringing my laptop nearly everywhere I go â I brought it to the vet once, lol
23. Would you like to visit Delaware? Yes. Delaware actually stands out in my memory because I remember reading in a kidsâ almanac many years ago that it was the first to become a US state. Ever since then Iâve kinda bookmarked the place in my head.
24. Last time you received dental care? December. My tooth had been hurting for a couple of months but it became absolutely unbearable by that month so I had to book an emergency appointment days before Christmas. I felt super bad for the hassled dentist (who doubles as a family friend, which made it more embarrassing)... but at that point I was crying myself to sleep every night and would wake up at 3 AM crying in pain, and I wouldâve done anything for the toothache to go away.Â
25. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Somewhere brutally cold.
26. Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? Iâve never been able to relate to this question, lol soz.
27. Are you satisfied sitting here, taking this survey, or would you rather be elsewhere? Iâm satisfied for now. I found more potential leads when it came to job-hunting and Iâm not feeling too anxious anymore. Iâve been so focused on looking for corporate communications/PR jobs in the private sector that I forgot about the possibility of applying my skills in something Iâm even more passionate about - museums! We have a few government agencies focused on museums, culture, and the arts and I definitely see myself performing in the jobs they offer. Itâs even better because itâll help me get my foot in the door in government positions, and as someone whoâs indecisive about law itâll be a great bridge to start with. Guess weâll just have to wait and see.
28. Last time you sat in a barberâs chair? Early March.
29. Do you own any cans of compressed air? Iâm not sure...had to look that up. Maybe we do? Idk. Dad will sometimes hoard random grownup stuff from the hardware store so Iâm not ruling this one out.
30. Do you have a swivel chair at your desk? Nope.
31. Do you prefer an armchair or a rocking chair? Rocking chair.
32. Would you rather have a beanbag chair or a hanging swing chair in your room? Hanging swing chair sounds so hipster and awesome lol. Iâve had my time with a beanbag chair anyway.
33. Whatâs the last non-survey related questionnaire that you had to fill out? SSS form.
34. Are there any crimes that you feel make someone deserving of the electric chair? Not really a death penalty kinda gal, but if anyone had to sit in the electronic chair itâll be people torturing and abusing animals for fun.
35. Do you know anyone who uses a wheelchair? Yes.
36. Do you know anyone who is on welfare? I probably do.
37. Do you play Modern Warfare? Nopes.
38.  Do you ever feel like life is unfair? It is, objectively. Iâm a little pessimistic when it comes to this.
39.  Have you ever visited Times Square? No. I dunno if I wanna go there...it seems so crowded and claustrophobic, not to mention super tourist-y haha. Iâd love to visit once just to see the bright lights and the giant ads, but Iâd much rather be at museums and historical sites.
40.  Do you tell people to âtake careâ at the end of a conversation with them? Sometimes. Iâve been saying it a lot more often these days, for obvious reasons.
41.  Where is somewhere that you would like to move to? Canada. But I also feel like if I moved there immediately it would be such a culture shock in terms of the weather, culture, how far away I am from family, etc. and I doubt I would cope well. I suppose I can move to either Vietnam or Singapore first, as kind of like a baby step.
42.  What is something in your home that needs to be repaired? One of the stovetop burners stopped working last night and my dadâs determined to fix that.
43.  What kind of sleepwear do you own? I go to bed in just my normal home clothes; I donât change to anything else.
44.  What skin care products do you use? Water. ;) Iâm one of the lucky ones lol.
45.  Do you have any spyware on your computer? Nope.
46.  Do you own any sportswear? What sports? I have athletic shorts from when I played table tennis.
47.  Do you like Fred Astaire? Sure. Iâve only seen one movie of his (Funny Face) and he was a delight in that.
48.  How long does it take you to prepare a meal? I only ever make instant meals, oops.
49.  Do you know anyone named Pierre? Yes, Evaâs youngest sister is a Pierre. Iâm just not sure if itâs also the same spelling.
50.  Are you going nowhere fast? I hope not. Iâm giving myself a quick break for now after studying for 18 years straight but like Iâm not out of ambition or anything like that at all.
51.  How often do you have a nightmare? Not very. They only show up when Iâm going through a depression. My last nightmare was two or so years ago.
52.  How often are you able to catch something in mid-air? Itâs unpredictable with me. Some days my reflexes are great but sometimes Iâll just be so clumsy.
53.  What do your lawn chairs look like? Brown and wooden.
54.  How many chairs are at your dining/kitchen table? Six; just right for our family of five.
55.  Favorite type of footwear? Sneakersssssss.
56.  Whenâs the last time one of your senses were impaired? From what? My left eye still gets irritated from time to time. We never really found out whatâs wrong with it; my first checkup happened on the day before lockdown, so we never got to go back. When it starts to act up, I usually have no choice but to wait for it to go away.
57.  Have you ever been in a hot air balloon before? No. Iâve been to hot air balloon festivals though. Thatâs enough for me haha; Iâm not desiring to be in one and be up in the sky.
58.  Do you have a good health care plan? My parents do for us kids.
59.  Last time you went to the hardware store? Months ago.
60.  Have you ever played foursquare before? No. I thought that was just a website. Oops.
61.  Do you own any types of eyewear? Iâve worn a pair of glasses since I was 11. I had needed them much earlier but my mom always thought I was being a sissy and just âwantedâ glasses to fit in with other kids. It was such a stupid mindset, and it was so stupid of her to not believe her kid WHO WAS STARTING TO NOT SEE. It was only when I took an eye exam at the school clinic and the school wrote her a letter that she finally believed me, but I had been suffering for a while and could barely read the chalkboard for like two years, which definitely affected my grades.Â
62.  What brand of cookware do you have a lot of? Not sure about brands.
63.  Nothing can compare to: Having a complete, loving, and supportive family.
64.  Have you ever worked in a childcare center? I havenât.
65.  Do you have a âbeware of dogâ sign on your gate? Nah. I usually say it myself. Kimi never got used to strangers.
66.  Have you ever attended daycare as a child? I guess you can say that? It wasnât daycare per se but some malls used to have play areas/centers and my mom used to drop me off in those while she ran errands for a few hours. Those arenât too common nowadays because I guess itâs more dangerous to leave your kids now, even with attendants, but they were a fun part of my childhood.
67.  Are you very aware of your surroundings? Iâm honestly a little ditzy so no. I always need a more responsible, more street smart friend by my side especially when Iâm going somewhere unfamiliar.
68. Have you ever had an au pair or a nanny before? We used to have househelp, but we never saw them as nannies. A vast majority of them never met my momâs (extremely high) expectations and quit in a few weeks or months, sometimes even days; the few ones who did eventually wanted better lives for themselves and resigned after a few years, which we didnât stop them from doing. At some point my mom gave up having help around and realized that ultimately, sheâd rather clean up and do chores her way.
69. Do you know anyone who has had an affair? Yes.
70. How much are you willing to spend on airfare? Iâve never bought my own ticket so I donât know how much theyâre supposed to be on average...but I imagine Iâm willing to pay a lot of money if it means going to the destinations of my dreams.
71. Who do you care about the most? The friends that I count as family.
72. Are you more likely to choose truth or dare? Truth. Iâm too shy to do dares and Iâve never had a problem telling the truth anyway.
73. Have you ever seen the Blair Witch Project before? Yes, a few times.
74. Do you like the name Claire? Would you spell it with or without the I? I love it, it sounds elegant and graceful and itâs one of my favorite names. I prefer it with an I â I donât know any Clares, actually.
75. Last time you went to a fair? Last week of January.
76. What can be done to make life more fair? Ending world hunger and poverty and making education accessible for all.Â
77. How much are you willing to spend on cab fare? Not much. Cab fares should be fair after all.
78. Do you have a lot of flair? To some extent, I guess. Iâm certainly not dragging myself down haha.
79. Do you own flare jeans? Nopes.
80. Is there a glare on your computer screen right now? There isnât.
81. Whenâs the last time someone glared at you? Sometime in the last week would be a safe guess. My mom will sometimes communicate through glares and Iâve picked up the habit from her as well.
82. What type of hair do you have? (color, length, texture, etc) How often do you wash it? Itâs black, quite thick, a bit on the wavy side, and has a tendency to get frizzy when itâs humid. Length-wise, it currently reaches just my collarbones. After a rebonding disaster around a decade ago my hair got a bit dry and it never really recovered from that, so I need to wash my hair with a giant blob of conditioner every time I take a shower otherwise it would get dry and hard.
83. Do you know the difference between a rabbit and a hare? I know hares are larger, but thatâs about it.
84. Do you like to eat eclairs? LOVE them.
85. What do you consider to be your lair? My car has served as my safety bubble for so many depressing days in college. Thatâs why I got a little heartbroken when my dad told me he might have plans to sell it to my aunt (his sister).
86. A female horse is called a mare. What is a male horse called? A baby horse? Stallion; foal. Thank you, kidâs almanacs haha.
87. Have you ever used Nair before? Did it work? I used Veet in middle school when razors still scared me. It worked, but it took a whiiiiile and sometimes it wouldnât even take all the hair off, so eventually I just started shaving.Â
88. Has anyone ever told you to âgrow a pairâ? No, and no thanks.
89. What is something that you own a pair of? Dogs.Â
90. What is a rare quality that you have? Other people will have to answer that. Theyâre the ones who see me and get to decide whatâs rare about me.
91. Last food you pared? I donât think Iâve done that.
92. Do you know someone who is a debonair? Sure.
93. Do you like to scare others for fun? No.
94. What is something that scares you? The idea of being in a plane crash, for one.
95. Do you like Sonny and Cher? Canât say Iâm a fan or that Iâve listened to anything of theirs.
96. Do you know how to share? Do you like to share? Sure. The only thing Iâm a little selfish about is my food lol.
97. Have you ever played a snare drum before? A few times before, yes.
98. What do you do with your spare change? I give them to the tambays who help me get out of parking spots. That or I use it to buy food in school, since everything in UPâs cheap enough to pay with coins.
99. Do you know how to put on a spare tire? No. Iâm interested to learn though.
100. Have you ever gotten a spare while bowling before? Yep, itâs happened a few times.
101. Whenâs the last time you wished someone would spare you the details? A week ago.
102. Do you win games fair and square? Sure. Iâve only cheated once and that was on an exam.
103. Do you know how to find the square root of something? Not anymore. I do have a bunch of perfect squares still memorized, though.
104. What are the characteristics of a square shape? Four equal sides that are also right angles.
105. Have you ever been called a square before? No. I donât know what that means either, so if I got called that I wouldnât know how to react.
106. Do you prefer the elevator or the stairs? Elevator.
107. Do you ever stare at other people? Only if itâs a bizarre situation. Once when this drunk guy got arrested in BGC and was being physical with the police, I stared and watched the whole thing. I do try to look away for most scenarios though.
108. How often do you swear? A few times a day.
109. Do you ever âswear on your lifeâ? Itâs not a saying that I commonly use, no.
110. What do you like to âtear upâ? Eh, I donât really like tearing up things.
111. What type of wares would you sell? Not interested in sales or business, so thatâs a pass for me haha.
112. What kinds of clothing do you like to wear? I like wearing whateverâs trendy, as long as I genuinely like the look.
113. Have you ever had a pregnancy scare before? Never. [a-zebra-is-a-striped-horse]

THE RUN DOWN.
CHILDHOOD;Â
Cooper was born August Levi Cooper to Elizabeth and Maxwell Cooper on April 2nd twenty-three years ago in Salinas, CA.
His siblings like to refer to him as the familyâs April fools surprise.
One reason being is he was very much an accident. The plan was always 3 biological and 3 adopted children. A large loving family blended with those born from blood and those from the heart.
While Cooper was unexpected, he never felt it growing up. A family consisting of nine different personalities is bound to have disputes and there have been a lot over the years, but theyâve always loved each other deeply. Family was important, a top priority always, and Coop grew up surrounded by love.
As a kid, he was always going a mile a minute. Always jabbering on, always into something. His mother, Elizabeth, never seemed to mind. If anything she embraced it using a somewhat free range approach to raising her children. She let them do as they pleased as long as they practiced reflection and responsibility after. The consequences were theirs whatever decisions were made.
So if he wanted to take apart the toaster, fine. He had to put it back together. If not? He would be working to pay for a new one. Want to stay up all night watching anime? Fine. If he fell asleep and failed his quiz the next day? The tv was gone.
It was a process for Cooper, who multiple teachers recommended that he take some form of medication for his outbursts and inability to follow directions without being distracted or derailing the entire class. His mother refused, but she did begin to focus on helping him regulate and make better choices.
Did it work? Eh. But he managed to scrape by.
But where he lacked impulse control, Cooper made up in kindness. He always the first to volunteer to help, whether it involved the teacher or another student. Heâd give away his lunch money to someone he thought needed it or sit with the kids that seemed alone, talking their heads off about the latest thing he saw on late night tv.Â
He was the kind of kid you dreaded and loved all at once and if you ask him, heâll tell you his childhood was a wonderful thing.
Some highlights include, starting Karate at age 5. Martial arts was one, if not the only way, to really get Cooper to slow down and focus. It was and still is a passion for him. He earned his black belt by age 9, his second degree by 11, and his 3rd by 14, making him one of the youngest in the county to have a 3rd degree blackbelt.
Began learning Japanese at age seven. It started as self teaching, but eventually his parents brought in a tutor.Â
ADOLESCENCE;Â
As he hit his preteen years, Cooper began to play sports. Soccer was his poison of choice and he was good...but some of the other kids found him to be odd. He was the youngest of seven, so there were always jokes made about the rag tag crew or about how he spent more time talking about japanese cartoons, comics and superheroes than he did the sport or the usual topics. Small, he was picked at, but Cooper? He never really noticed.
He was the butt end of jokes, but always the first to laugh. He was confident, even then, that the things his âfriendsâ did were often in good fun and never to take advantage of him or be malicious. Even when his trips to the principal's office became more frequent and his detentions began to pile up, he insisted things were fine. He was loyal and they just had different ways of showing their friendship to him.
He was sixteen when a new kid moved to town and his friends turned their attention to him. Coop thought they were looking to welcome him into the fold, he was a bit quiet, always reading, kinda awkward, but the more time they spent with him, the more Cooper started to notice the shit way they were treating him. The jokes they had used on Cooper, they were funny to him, but this kid? Not so much. It didnât take long before he began to see their relationship with this kid and their relationship with him? They werenât harmless and in one very explosive day, Cooper not only stood up for the kid, but may have broken his best friendâs jaw.
He was ousted from the soccer team. Fine. He needed new friends. Fine. He had one and that was fine with him. He took it all in stride. Stayed confident and though he had a nasty mark on his record, his parents were proud he finally stood up for himself and someone else. In the end, his dad able to make it go away, but still.
That summer, on a mission to be his own man and less of a sheep, he began frequenting the local game shop. Heâd play in the pokemon league, try out various boardgames and chill. It became a home away from home and where he met Callum âGoodieâ Goodrich, the closest person to a little brother heâs ever had.Â
They started as rivals, which some might consider odd considering the age difference, but Coop respected the kid and his skill. It was never an angry or aggressive thing. Goodie had a sense of humor and Coop was too easy going and before long they were exchanging tips and just hanging out for the sake of hanging out.
When things began to get rough for Goodie, Cooper didnât ask. It wasnât his business, but he began to notice a change...so he began inviting Goodie home for dinners, hang out sessions, etc. His family didnât mind, if anything they enjoyed having him around and soon Goodie became an honorary Cooper.
In the three years that followed, Cooper juggled a lot of different things. He began helping at his dojo as well as the local animal shelter and his partying streak started up.
At eighteen, he was granted access to the âfamily ranchâ, his parents attempting to let their children get whatever they needed out of their system. Rather than sneak around and drink or smoke or fuck, the ranch was available. It was a risk, especially for his father, a judge, but as loving and great as his family was? Their moral code wasnât quite in line with the rest of society. His father had no qualms as long as they had some common sense. Were there hiccups? Yes. But they managed. There were six before him, so by the time Cooper came around, they knew what guidelines to lay down.
It was wild year, definitely one of the most fun heâd ever had. His grades though? They suffered. School wasnât exactly top priority and to him, that was fine. Why did a bunch of numbers have to dictate his life?
It wasnât until he decided he wanted to help animals for a living did he realize good grades were probably a good thing. But by then it was too late to get in anywhere prestigious. Which was fine. He made his bed and he was quick to figure something else out.
He decided on taking a gap year so he doubled down on volunteering and started learning aikido while continuing his partying and hanging with Goodie.
Or at least until he disappeared. One day he just...stopped coming in. Cooper figured he was sick or just rough off, but when he couldnât get in touch with him, he genuinely began to worry. He even went as far to check the news...and saw the headline. It hit him hard and his dad, despite being in the court system, had no info. That whole summer, he had to just, keep checking out the shop and hope heâd run into him. But as the days went on, it became clear his friend was gone⌠hopefully to some situation that was much better.
Cooper finished up the summer and went off to school the next August.
TWENTIES;Â
Not that he went far. He spent four years at a college between his home town and Dayton, CA. Phaedra, his grandmother, and his grandfather helped him pay for his schooling so he began visiting Dayton during the summer. He spent most of it in Salinas but heâd spend a few weeks in Dayton.
His time in Dayton was mostly spent helping Phaedra or working at the local shelter. But by the time he hit 21, partying was added to that roster.
One bachelorâs degree and a certificate later and here he is. Vet school is something heâs thought about but his grandfather passed away last year and Phaedra needed some assistance with the house.Â
So while sheâs off jet setting to ease the pain, Cooperâs taking responsibility for the upkeep of her Dayton home. He has no clue about home repair, but heâs more than happy to squat, make sure sheâs not robbed and start work in a town thatâs always kept him hype.

Tagged by my wonderful mutual @it-may-be-dull-but-im-determinedâ
1. When you were little, what did you think youâd be when you grew up? Did your reality (or your future plans) come close to that?
I was definitely the astronaut kid. I loved everything to do with space and astronomy and planets and stars (my mom even let 7 year old me watch the made for TV movie about the challenger explosion). But I also loved writing, even at that age I would write overly long stories just for fun. But I got to fifth grade and had a horrible teacher who loved science in all the ways I didnât, and she killed that astronaut dream. But even if itâs ultimately just a hobby, the writing has never stopped.
2. Do you think of yourself as an urban, suburban, or rural person?
I mostly grew up in a rural section of small town (although not a rural as it could have been), and boy, I hated it (still do). Now, I live in Austin, and while I am in city limits, the areas I go to our confined to just a bit of space, so it feels suburban, which is what I like best. All the benefits of city living, minimal downsides (plus there are tons of trees here, itâs almost like an urban forest.)
3. Do you decorate with carefully matched pieces, or are you eclectic?
Whatâs decorating? But seriously, I always hated the idea of everything in a room being the same color, so even if I was interested in that approach, it would be eclectic. But mostly we have posters and some random art pieces/photos on the walls, and itâs just the way I like it.
4. Are you the photographer of your group/family, or do you always want to be in the photos?
Photographer. I love taking pictures, and I hate having my picture taken (mainly because Iâm so self conscious I forget how to smile properly). But I mostly just like nature/landscape photography, so I donât get a lot of practice taking pictures of people. I have dabbled in lomography, and Iâve gotten some amazing photos with my Diana F+ camera.
5. Do your thoughts come to you in words (like conversations with yourself) or pictures (abstract, ideas, visions)?â
Conversations generally. Iâve talked to myself pretty much my whole life (my mom assured me itâs a learning device), and I do use it as a way to work through tasks or problems, like making a verbal checklist.
6. Do you have changing weather seasons where you live, or a relatively continuous climate? Do you wish you lived in the opposite?
We have mild seasons here, but they are definitely seasons. I moved here from SoCal, and they have ten months of summer, and two months of slightly cooler temps, and yeah, Texas isnât New England, but there are changes. I like it this way, because I get panic attacks from driving on ice, but we still cool down in the fall and winter. And if weâre lucky, we can see the leaves changing colors.
7. When you donât have obligations, what is your ideal, natural time to get up? To go to bed?
I have a pretty weird schedule, because I generally work 230-11 pm, but I get up anywhere between 6:30-10 am depending on if my brain wants to let me sleep (the answer is almost always no). So I got to bed usually between 1230-130 am seven days a week and just wake up whenever.Â
8. Do you cook? Bake? Or do you prefer to have someone else to that?
I have both a sweet tooth and talent for baking, even if I donât do it much. Iâd love to do it more, but I just donât have the equipment to really explore that hobby. And I hate cooking, just across the board hate it, because it just takes so much time for just food. I would love something like a pill you could take three times a day that would give you everything you needed from food so I never had to bother eating again. But for now, we cook to eat. Dammit.
9. Which way do you put your toilet paper? Up and over so it hangs in front? Or dangling below? Does it bother you if itâs done the other way?
Dangling below. And yeah, it bothers me. But itâs one of those pleasant things that we mostly all have an opinion about, and itâs fun to see where other people fall on that scale.
10. If you had a lot of money, what would be the first selfish, frivolous thing you would do with it? (Not for other people, not for practical purposes, but fun and just because you want to.)
I would love to buy a house for two reasons:Â
1) We could set up a game room, with big shelves for our board games/books and a huge table and comfy chairs to play on;
2) We could adopt more cats, one or two more, maybe even look at adopting a pair of siblings, and get a catio.Â

fr the poem questions: all of them >: )c
jared... only for you...
the tyger â are you a taker of calculated risks or do you enjoy playing with fire? would you rather ask for permission or forgiveness?
i am a major rule follower, i am not at all adventurous and i like to stay in my comfort zone. my life is a mix of staying true to my comfort zone and doing what I feel is right, first instinct.Â
i carry your heart with me â do you believe in fate? whatâs your secret to living a good life?
i tend to not believe in fate, it tends to make people not take responsibility for their actions and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth; predestination takes away humility from us. and i wouldnt say that im currently living a good life, its getting there but more often then not i would not describe my days as âhappyâ, more so just another day. but to make a day not outwardly bad, i firmly believe in having a really good breakfast in the morning and taking a shower at night. both of those really make my days better.
i wandered lonely as a cloud â what does nature mean to you? where do you feel most at peace?
nature for me is what comes to us instinctively and what we turn to for comfort in trying times. i feel the most at peace either at summer camp or in my bedroom with my cat :3
blackberrying â what were your early years like? do you miss being a child?
my early years were very happy, i was a very happy and funloving child. it was a time where i wasnt told about any of my family drama so i lived in blissful ignorance. i definitely miss being a child, all the way up to about 7th grade. its just been downhill from 8th grade and on.
ode to a nightingale â how do you feel about your own mortality? do you believe in life after death?
my mortality is something of a burden i carry with me everyday, a reminder that every minute is precious and this is the only life i get, i have one shot to not fuck it up. i dont believe in the afterlife, the concept of death is something that if i think too hard about then itll fuck me up.
hope is the thing with feathers â what gives you hope? what would you tell your 10-year-old self?
hope comes from those news stories about good news, like charity donation goals being hit and remembered anniversaries and flower bouquets in public, there is good in the world and sometimes its hard to find but its always there. to my 10 year old self, i would tell her to not hold too tightly to those around you, and that life constantly changes so dont get too attached or comfortable because itll prevent you from growing in the future.
the road not taken â do you find it hard to make decisions? what regrets do you have?
its really hard to make decisions because i always assume that my ideas are wrong or bad so if someone else takes the lead, i cant be blamed. as far as regrets, i wish that in my past, i just put myself out there more. i couldve spent highschool actively seeking for possibilities instead of sulking and wishing they came to me. they dont ever, you have to find them.
still i rise â what's your relationship with yourself like? what are your best qualities?
i have a bad relationship to myself; if i admire one trait about myself, the other traits must be less than. for example, if i think i look nice one day, then i remember abt my grades or my writing and how much i hate both of those. i can never be fully at peace, it will never be enough to sate my psyche. my âbestâ qualities depend on the day, right now i think i have nice eyelashes.
howl â can you express yourself freely? do you feel smothered by societal norms?
i struggle everyday to be my genuine self. its not so much societal norms but my own mind; i want to look nice but i dont want to attract too much attention. i want to be remembered but not for how good my ass looks or whatever. my biggest fear is that people see me as something desirable but only sexually so i want to dress how i feel but i cant because im terrified of the gaze of men on my campus.
the raven â are you in touch with your feelings? how would you describe the relationship between emotions & rationality?
im extremely in touch with my feelings. i can acknowledge when i am angry or sad or happy, even if i dont know why. i allow myself to feel my feelings and then let them pass, i hate bottling those things up. between emotions and rationality, i use my emotions 9 times out of 10. i ask myself, âwhat do i want?â and the first thing i come up with, i know is what i truly want to do.Â
sonnet 116 â how do you define love? what qualities do you look for in a significant other?
i think love is everything; its the warmth of hanging out with familiar people, its when people remember facts about you, its a meaningful hug and its âthis reminded me of youâ. its different for everyone but i feel love in everything i do. in a significant other, the biggest thing is being able to make me laugh, if youre funny than im sold.
to autumn â what's your favorite season and why? what cherished memories do you associate with that season?
my favorite season is winter because it has lots of holiday warmth, good food, pleasant childhood memories, and comfortable clothing. also i love snow. i have very vivid memories of a blizzard in maryland when i was 11(?) years old, my neighbor tied a sled to the back of his ATV and dragged us around the cul de sac, it was so much fun!!
the waste land â do you like big cities? if you could choose any place on earth, where would you settle down?
i love big cities, they evoke so many feelings of love and the atmosphere being surrounded by people makes me so happy! if i could live anywhere, i think it would be san francisco, i love the city and the weather and the public transportation!!
o captain! my captain! â what are your aspirations in life? what motivates you?
in life, i want to give a tedtalk. i would also love to publish a book but i dont like what i write so if i ever did, id end up hating the book anyway in a year or so. i want to teach people the joy of public speaking and i want to give kids the joys i had given to me by my teacher when i was their age. my motivation comes from, this has to be done and if no one else will do it, it might as well be me. i have the passion and everything else will follow after that.
she walks in beauty â what's your aesthetic? how would you describe the relationship between inner goodness & outer beauty?
id describe my aesthetic as lovecore, i love the color pink and red and hearts and flowers and teddy bears and dresses and sparkles and valentines day and i love everything stereotypically âcuteâ. and i feel there is no outer beauty without inner goodness, if someone has bad intentions or a rotten core, their outward appearance will reflect.
one art â how do you deal with loss? do you write diary entries, poetry or prose?
thankfully i have not had to go through tremendous loss in my life but when i feel an emotional loss or general low point, i tend to move towards art, aimless doodling to take my mind off of situations. it centers me.
work, sometimes â how does your favorite weather make you feel? what is happiness to you?
my favorite weather makes me feel SO happy, all smiley and giddy and like things are going to be okay, just for one day, i will make this a good one. happiness to me is comfort and joy, its something that makes you laugh until your sides hurt and its art that you look at and feel. happiness isnt a huge moment, its little moments scattered throughout the days.
acquainted with the night â do you think there's such thing as the right time? whatâs your outlook on the world?
no, i dont like to set things off for the thought of there being a right and wrong time. time isnt real and we only have so long on earth so there is no time but the present. go get that tattoo, ask them out, eat that snack. my outlook on the world is that there is a lot of bad shit but there is also a lot of good shit you will never see but it important nonetheless. you cant change the world in a day so you might as well take it one day at a time, working everyday to make it as good as possible.
if â do you daydream a lot? are you volatile, or do you stay calm when conflicts arise?
i love to day dream, it helps me determine what i really want and its a lovely distraction when the goings get tough. i try to avoid conflicts in every situation possible but if i were pushed, id either accept my mistake and apologize and work towards a better future; or i would tell the other person how im feeling and what i can do to help them feel better.
what would i give? â do you cry often? if you could change anything about your past, what would it be?
things make me sad but rarely enough to cry, things more so tend to weigh me down then break me. i let the sadness take me however it sees fit. and if thats to cry, so be it. if i could change anything about my past, i would just say that you will only get this chance to start over in a new state once, the years will go by quick so to TAKE OPPORTUNITIES WHEN THEY SHOW THEM SELF TO YOU!!!!!!

for the ask meme: odd numbers!
Oh, worm? Alright letâs do this shit
1: 6 of the songs you listen to most?Since I already answered this song, hereâs six songs that I listened to the most when I was sixteen:
âThrash Unrealâ - Against Me!âAn Ocean Between Usâ - As I Lay DyingâThe Modern Leperâ - Frightened RabbitâThe Outer Banksâ - the Album LeafâHide and Seekâ - Imogen HeapâJesusâ - Brand New3: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, give me line 17.âNo you listen here, buckaroo.â Could not have picked a better line if you asked me to.
5: What does your latest text message from someone else say?âHell yes!â
7: Whatâs your strangest talent?I can juggle and do a few of those metal screams.
9: Ever had a poem or song written about you?One of each, though both authors have never admitted it to me specifically.
11: Do you have any strange phobias?Iâm terrified of anything with a stinger, but thatâs about it.
13: Whatâs your religion?Whatever it is, Iâm losing it.
15: Do you prefer to be behind the camera or in front of it?Behind the camera. I love catching candids of my friends, and Iâm not very photogenic anyway.
17: What was the last lie you told?I told my boss that I needed caffeine before I could talk to him (I donât - just like mornings to myself), though most people will say my last lie was that last part to the previous question.
19: What does your URL mean?Too long to explain in full here, but basically: to me, piano as an instrument represents the way the art of music can endure in spite and because of institutionalized learning practices. Guitar, meanwhile, represents the improvised result of a pure drive to create the art in oneâs heart by any means necessary. Between those two ideologies, Iâll side with the guitar every time.
21: Who is your celebrity crush?Oscar Isaac.
23: How do you vent your anger?Decimate them in a verbal argument - in my head if Iâm angry for a bad reason, out loud if Iâm angry for a good one.
25: Do you prefer talking on the phone or video chatting online?Phone calls are the best. Nothing feels better than shooting the shit with someone through my headphones while I stare at my bedroom ceiling.Â
27: Whatâs a sound you hate; sound you love? The sound of a perfectly tuned E major chord on a guitar in standard tuning puts me at such an ease. The worst sound is probably a fork scraping across the surface of a plate.
29: Do you believe in ghosts? How about aliens?Ghosts, nah. Aliens, maybe.
31: Smell the air. What do you smell?Cat hair.
33: Choose: East Coast or West Coast?Iâve only ever been to the east coast, so either that side wins by default or I should be disqualified from making this decision
35: To you, what is the meaning of life?Figuring out the best way to kill our time and reach people.
37: Do you believe in luck?More than most things.
39: What time is it?I started this at 11:30 PM last night. Then my computer crashed and I lost all my answers, so Iâm going back through it again at 10:27 AM this morning. So pick your favorite of those?
41: What was the last book you read?At Your Own Risk, by Derek Jarman
43: Do you have any nicknames?None that have stuck around, unfortunately.
45: Whatâs the worst injury youâve ever had?I had a gash in my knee when I was seventeen due to a skateboarding accident. Not fun. I spent my first three weeks of summer bedridden that year.Â
47: Do you have any obsessions right now?Between the Buried and Me.
49: Ever had a rumour spread about you?Too many to count at this point.
51: Do you tend to hold grudges against people who have done you wrong? Not as a general rule, no. I tend to be forgiving to a fault, and try as best as I can not to regret that tendency.
53: Do you save money or spend it?I feel I have a good balance of both, knowing when to treat myself and when to live off rice and beans for a while.
55: Love or lust?Love is easier.
57: How many relationships have you had?I think this is my ninth?
59: Where were you yesterday?First work, then rehearsal at Champion studios, then Starbucks for a production meeting, then back to rehearsal, and then home to feed the cat.
61: Are you wearing socks right now?Yes.
63: What is your secret weapon to get someone to like you?Ask them to talk to me as long as they like about something theyâre passionate about, actually engage with what theyâre saying to me, and finally learn more about that interest in my spare time to show them that I care.
